Position Details


TelCyte, LLC is seeking a Registered Professional Land Surveyor with demonstrated experience in the land development survey industry for our Mesa, Arizona office. The qualified individual will be responsible for developing and managing survey staff, assisting in the growth of TelCyte’s survey division, and securing new work in the marketplace. The individual will also be required to serve as the client liaison on survey projects, mentor survey staff, prepare proposals, invoices, and all other aspects required to successfully manage projects, and effectively collaborate with clients and internal team members for our land development business.

 
Responsibilities

  • The position has room for executive management growth to oversee national survey division growth with advancement opportunities.

  • Managing scope, schedules, and budgets on land surveying projects for Residential and Commercial Development Projects

Position Details

 

TelCyte is looking to add an experienced Professional Engineer to grow the wireless engineering and design group. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with internal and external partners to design, permit, and deploy telecommunication infrastructure projects across the country.

 

This individual should have at least 5-10 years of telecommunication infrastructure design experience with a focus on macro-scale projects, such as rooftop, water tank, and tower-based new site builds, raw land tower projects, and existing site modifications. They must have the experience and abilities needed to lead design teams of Drafters, Designers, and other Engineers, working in partnership with Project Management to coordinate technical delivery of multiple concurrent projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide active technical leadership and expertise within the Wireless and Wireline engineering groups to design and deploy America's 21st-century telecommunication infrastructure

  • Responsible for planning and execution of Engineering scope-of-work on medium-to-large Wireless projects, leading engineering, and design efforts for multiple teams of Engineers, Designers, and Drafters

  • Responsible for reviewing and approving the work done by staff Engineers working under their supervision on several concurrent projects

  • Assign tasks and coordinate workflows within the resources provided by department management

  • Assist in preparing resource plans in collaboration with department and project management to achieve schedule, scope, and budget objectives

  • Prepares calculations and analysis. Examples include: analysis of antenna supports under gravity and lateral loads, evaluation of existing gravity and lateral load resisting systems in buildings and similar structures, tower structural analysis, and other similar tasks requiring unconventional approaches

  • Perform design tasks in a self-directed manner and as required by adherence to Codes and Standards, special customer requirements, or typical industry standards of care. Examples include: Developing rooftop arrangements and utility pathways, selecting, and evaluating structural anchorage systems to suit specific project needs, or reviewing calculations and analysis by sub-vendor partners.

  • Summarize the results of design and calculation work in drawings, sketches, or technical reports

  • Develop, organize, and maintain design support materials

  • Develop and document processes and procedures according to the project type, client direction, and the requirements of the local authority having jurisdiction

  • Assist in developing QA/QC procedures for projects in the Wireless engineering group

  • Perform quality checks for work performed in the Wireless engineering group

  • Possess competent and clear written and oral communication skills. Interact with internal and external partners, including local officials, clients, and subcontractors.

  • Assist in the development and presentation of training material for the Wireless engineering group.

  • Possess a thorough understanding of the International Building Code (IBC) and National Utility Safety Code (NESC) and their commonly used reference Standards (ASCE 7, TIA-222, NEC, etc.). Identify and follow design requirements stemming from the Building or Utility Code(s) in effect for all project work.

 

Qualifications:

  • Actively licensed Professional Engineer, with the demonstrated ability to responsibly maintain licensing in multiple jurisdictions and a willingness to pursue licensure in additional jurisdictions as strategically required

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat

  • Comfortable with Google Earth, GIS, or other mapping applications

OSP Field Technician I

Position Details

The Field Technician is responsible for conducting all field activities for telecommunications projects, with work functions including, but not limited to Desktop Feasibility Analysis on Google Earth, pole, conduit, and site surveys, OSP field engineering, and other tasks as assigned.  The position includes full ownership of the task, schedule, and deadlines.  Takes direction from Senior OSP Engineer/Project Manager. The position is primarily in the field with minimal time focused on administrative tasks.  This position will require traveling to multiple markets around the United States.

 

Responsibilities

  • Complete Google Earth analysis of potential candidates. Collect field data as well as review field-collected data for accuracy and completeness.

  • Complete field survey to contribute to a make-ready solution that meets NESC code.  Participate in joint ride-outs with utilities, as required.

  • Participate in field survey to support conduit licensing across multiple utilities.

  • Manage competing clients, projects, and schedules with attention to deliverable completion and deadlines.

  • Understand all applicable codes, design, and construction standards per project.  Take ownership to seek out and understand the guidelines, and review pole attachment agreements and NESC code.

  • Process all fielding in required forms or formats for hand-off or client deliverables.

  • Must have a general understanding of accounting/invoicing processes.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. A college degree is highly preferred.

  • Ability to use smartphones, tablets, applications, and web-based programs to complete field or desktop surveys and upload results daily

  • Surveying and field experience a plus

  • Strong computer skills are a must

Position Details

 The CAD Drafter I is responsible for creating/updating drawings for various telecommunications sites.  Drawings will include floor plans, tower elevations, site plans, grounding plans, etc. Most drawings are 2D single lines (3D not required). The drafter works closely with engineering personnel to create accurate engineering packages for permitting and construction. This position is a fully remote/full-time position. Project Controller (Mesa, Arizona) 

 

Project Controllers, sometimes referred to as Project Control Analysts, are responsible for working within all stages of project management. Their primary role is to work closely with project managers to ensure that all budgeting, scheduling, and coordination processes run smoothly. They monitor the progress of a project to ensure that it is working within the confines of set deadlines and budget limitations and generate progress reports to managers. Project Controllers also make suggestions for improvements to project operations as needed. All industries employ Project Controllers.

 

Project Controllers report to project managers, operations managers, and other upper-management personnel involved in particular projects. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the expected job growth rate for Project Controllers and all management analysts is 14 percent through 2024. The continued need for companies to control costs and maintain efficient operations are the main reasons for this projected growth.

Project Controller Tools of the Trade:

The completion of all job responsibilities often requires that Project Controllers use or have knowledge of various tools and systems. If you are interested in becoming a Project Controller, you should be able to use the following:

 

  • Microsoft Office applications – from Word documents to spreadsheets, Project Controllers should have strong knowledge of Microsoft applications to create reports and present information in Excel and PowerPoint.

Project Controller Education and Training:

Most employers seek Project Controllers who hold a bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, or accounting. They should be trained in or familiar with project administration software and processes. In some cases, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

As a Program Controller, you will be managing multiple projects and priorities. You’ll need to be able to manage work independently and as a manager utilizing your experience and skills to build solutions that meet customer needs and are cost-effective.

TelCyte is seeking CDL Class B candidates to join our team! This position will operate various types of TelCyte vehicles including 1 ½, 2-
and 5-ton pickups, dump trucks as well as hydrovac trucks. TelCyte drivers are required to assist with various other tasks while not driving
including but not limited to helping hydro excavate, backfill holes, restoration and install various other fiber products. The ideal candidate will
be safety-focused, customer and quality-oriented, with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities 

  • Perform daily vehicle inspections for DOT compliance. 

  • Ensure safety of TelCyte employees and public safety while operating TelCyte vehicle 

  • Responsible for load securement to comply with federal, state, and local requirements.

  • Trench, place duct, pull cable, and direct bury main line and drops. 

  • Perform restoration back to existing conditions.

Our hard surface restoration crew will support and work hand in hand with our underground construction fiber-to-the-home crew to restore/remove/replace damaged sidewalk panels, concrete driveways, asphalt roadways, and other similar hard surface work in
residential and commercial neighborhoods where the Company does work.

TelCyte is seeking applicants who have skills in performing concrete laboring in flat work, asphalt repair, and concrete restoration of
sidewalks, curbs, and other similar structures. Preferred candidates will have experience in setting and stripping forms, mixing, pouring,
and raking concrete, tying, and cutting rebar, hand finishing, cutting expansion joints, general laboring, and materials handling.

Responsibilities: 

  • Performs hard surface restoration 

  • Knowledge of hard surface demolition, repair, restoration, and replacement of hard surfaces such as sidewalk panels, roadways, etc.

Fiber Splicer

Position Details

Our Fiber Splicing crews work in support of our underground construction fiber-to-the-home crews to place cable in conduit and fusion splice fiber optic distribution cables into fiber enclosures. TelCyte is seeking applicants who have skills in fiber splicing and also performing fiber splicing production work in an OSP deployment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Splice fiber optic cables including both loose tube and ribbon cables, including high count ribbon fiber of 864 count or higher, and construct proper splice cases and fiber termination panels

  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance to resolve signal problems

  • Operate technical equipment, including but not limited to computers, OTDR, power meters, and fusion splicing equipment, and understand the functions

  • Lift and manipulate splice enclosures and other plant and equipment

  • Installation and dressing of fiber optic cabling

  • Reading and interpreting work prints and splice diagrams

  • Reading and interpreting existing fiber records, on maps or in the field

Position Details

Coax Splicer candidate must know established coax splicing procedures and techniques including the placement of poles and anchors, familiarity with a wide range of tools and equipment, ability to read and understand prints/maps, safety rules, and operating instructions. Services may include performing inside wiring, cabling, knowledge of OTDR, various test equipment, and testing and maintenance services. TelCyte is seeking applicants who have skills in coax splicing work in various OSP deployments.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Read, interpret, and analyze system/network design maps; verify built documentation; compare field findings with existing documentation and report results following company process

  • Install and replace HFC physical network plant components such as coax, actives, passives, power supplies, grounding systems, pedestals, riser guards, conduit, etc., according to technical specifications; splice coax and fiber cables

  • Monitor and report signal leakages and complete repairs as required

  • Regularly test all HFC network components using test equipment including signal level meters, volt-ohm meters, leakage detectors, Time Domain Reflectors (TDR), Optical Time Domain Reflectors (OTDR), power meters, and other related test equipment

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, and update records of standby power supplies according to technical specifications

  • Troubleshoot and repair distribution problems associated with RF, AC, and DC elements of the forward and reverse plant; report drop-related problems

  • Resolve system outages

  • Perform mechanical and/or fusion splicing of fiber optic cable as required

  • Accurately complete all required company documentation for each assignment according to established company standards and procedures

  • Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly. Clean, maintain stock, and secure assigned vehicles and equipment per company policies

  • Adhere to company, industry, local, state, and federal regulations, and standards

Position Details

The OSP laborer is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site. They will load and unload tools raw materials, or pieces of equipment and dig or fill in pits throughout the construction process.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Trench, place duct, pull cable, and direct bury main line and drops

  • Locate & and verify all utilities before construction

  • Perform restoration back to existing conditions

  • At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications construction, familiarity with Horizontal Directional Drills and aerial buck trucks, ability to use cable placement equipment and tools, ability to identify and troubleshoot problems

  • Individuals must be able to read prints and have knowledge of the aerial/underground process

Our hard surface restoration crew supports and works hand in hand with our underground construction fiber-to-the-home crew to restore/remove/replace damaged sidewalk panels, concrete driveways, asphalt roadways, and other similar hard surface work in residential and commercial neighborhoods where the Company does work.

 

TelCyte is seeking applicants who have skills in managing concrete laborers in flat work, asphalt repair, and concrete restoration of sidewalks, curbs, and other similar structures. Preferred candidates will have experience in setting and stripping forms, mixing, pouring, and raking concrete, tying, and cutting rebar, hand finishing, cutting expansion joints, general laboring, and materials handling. HSR Crew Lead applicants will be required to have significant experience working with concrete and asphalt and must be able to manage a crew of laborers providing direction and oversight of the crew including safety, production, and restoration activities on a daily basis.

Construction Foreman

​

Position Details

This position leads and manages a team of employees and resource allocation for direct construction activities for the company. The employee is expected to coordinate the efforts of sub-TelCyte employees to complete specific work tasks in a project-based environment. The Construction Foreman’s main role is to ensure timely construction to meet customer expectations and manage timelines of specific work packages in line with the project goals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe environment and ensure all safety standards are met.

  • Oversee construction field operations with supervision and oversight of in-house crews.

  • Ensure all field as-built and photo packages are completed before leaving the site.

  • The construction foreman will coordinate and schedule field activities and resources to complete the scope of work.

  • Directly responsible for the overall success of construction projects including meeting project schedules and budget.  Strong construction management, reporting, and budgeting skills will be a must.

  • Demonstrated attention to quality construction practices and ensured timely close out and delivery of the project schedule.

  • Cross-team management with other departments and entities will be needed to ensure the timely build schedule.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School or associate degree.

  • Previous 5 years of direct experience directing and managing wireless construction or project builds

  • OSHA 10 or higher required

  • Extensive experience in OSP communications industries with the ability to ensure high quality and safety standards. 

  • Strong time management and construction quality and safety experience.

  • Willingness to learn new skills, software, databases, and technologies.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Products, and Google Earth.

  • Must know how to read construction drawings and help others understand how to build using the prints issued.
